It’s October, y’all! Which means the trees are starting to go naked, the weather is chilling out, and it’s socially acceptable to wear plastic vampire teeth all month long.
I’ve always loved October, mostly because it’s the time of year that the spooky and the strange come out to play. In college, I was that person who had a jar of homemade fake blood hanging out in the mini fridge. I was that person who did gory effects with Vaseline and red food coloring. I was that person who watched all of the campy horror movies and tried to get their friends to watch them, too.
Needless to say, some of that weirdness has travelled with me through the years since school. I still watch scary movies (or TV shows [HAVE YOU SEEN THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR?!?!?!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH I LOVE IT!!!]), I still dress up (albeit less gore-ified), and I still relish in making practical effects with everyday household supplies. I’m still filled with the same awe and wonder as I was over a decade ago, and that tickles me pink.
Now, enough writing. I’ve got several episodes of Scream Queens to watch, and the day ain’t getting any longer.
